Dr. Anand Balan obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, in 1993. He completed his post-graduate training (DNB) in psychiatry from the Institute of Mental Health, Chennai in 1998. He has been in consulting practice since then.

His practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of the full spectrum of psychiatric illnesses, in both in- and out-patient settings. He specializes in child and adolescent psychiatry and in addiction medicine, and in the assessment and treatment of patients with depression and bipolar disorder.

In addition to his consulting work, he has been holding faculty positions since 1999. Presently, he is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Sree Balaji Medical College, Chennai.
