Dr. Anand Balan obtained his basic medical degree (MBBS) from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, in 1993. He completed his post-graduate training in psychiatry (DNB) from the Institute of Mental Health, Chennai in 1998. He has been in consulting practice since then.
His practice involves the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of psychiatric illnesses, in both in- and out-patient settings. He specializes in the management of
- children with ADD / ADHD
- adults with depression and bipolar disorder
- persons with chemical dependency (addiction, substance abuse)
In addition to his consulting work, he has been holding faculty positions since 1999. Presently, he is Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Sree Balaji Medical College, Chennai.
